PREMIUM WAX CANDLE BURNING TIPS
Please make sure to read these helpful instructions!
Always ensure before lighting the candle wick is trimmed to no more then 1/4”, for proper burning. Too large of a wick results in a large flame that can produce black soot on the glass and in the air, and also poses a risk for fires.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Never burn a candle on or near items that could catch fire; fabrics, curtains, blankets or paper, etc. Do not sleep while a candle is burning and keep candles out of the reach of children and away from pets.
IMPORTANT! Although I use ‘self-trimming’ cotton wicks, for the best burn make sure your wicks are trimmed to ¼” height, NO larger, before each lighting. After 4 hours of burning if the wick is too long, extinguish flame, trim wick back and relight if you would like to burn the candle longer. If the wick gets too long, the flame will also be too large, causing soot inside the glass and also in the air.
IMPORTANT! Candles tend to pull away from the glass during cooler temps, completely or in spots. This is normal and due to temperature changes and wax shrinkage. It does not affect the quality of the candle. If you find it offensive, a quick touch up to the sides with a hair dryer removes these spots.
Candle jars do get hot, please be careful if you need to move while the jar is still hot.
A little wax left on the inside of the jar as the candle burns down is fine and means the candle is not burning too hot. As the candle burns the wax melt will catch up.
IMPORTANT! Burning a candle for more than 4 hours is called a “power burn” and if the candle is not burning properly by this time, extinguish, trim the wick, and relight. The wick can burn too hot, get too long and cause soot. Resting the candle will prevent smoke and soot from forming.
If your candle begins to smoke, extinguish and trim the wick and relight. Hint: nail trimmers work great to trim wicks, when nothing else is available.
Do not leave a burning candle unsupervised and do not burn any candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- IMPORTANT! Keep from children, pets and your cat’s tail, and do not sleep with a candle burning.
